A small parent initiative in Hitdorf – and still regularly among the award winners. This is not self-promotion, but proof that our work bears fruit.

2025
eTwinning Quality Label
In 2025 we were awarded the eTwinning Quality Label – as one of only 128 institutions nationwide and the very first daycare ever. eTwinning is the European network for school partnerships; a daycare centre making it there had never been planned.
In the same year we reached the final of the German eTwinning Award – among the last ten, with the award ceremony in October 2025 in Potsdam.
Since 2010
Stiftung Kinder forschen
Since 2010 we have taken part in the programme of the Stiftung Kinder forschen, formerly “Haus der kleinen Forscher”. In 2025 we received our seventh certification – without interruption since the first time.
State of NRW
Cultural profile of the State of NRW
The State of North Rhine-Westphalia has awarded us as a daycare with a special cultural profile – for our work with art, theatre and creativity.
Projects
Erasmus+
Stories across borders
Together with schools in France and Romania, we are working on an Erasmus+ project on storytelling. The children invent, tell and share stories with children they have never met – in a language that is everyone’s second language.
matchboxtheater
Theatre, twice a year
We share our building with the matchboxtheater, and we make the most of it. Twice a year, our own production takes the stage: most recently “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” – with an English song and 17 pages of text, performed by children from age three – and before that “Peter Pan”.
